Different laser crystals, due to their varying properties, are used in a wide range of applications:

Nd:YAG (Neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet)

Features : The "outstanding" crystal renowned for its superior overall performance, mature technology, and wide-ranging applications. It boasts excellent thermal, mechanical, and optical properties.

Application : Industrial cutting/welding/marking, medical aesthetics (such as spot removal and tattoo removal), scientific research, military applications, and more.

Yb:YAG (Yttrium-aluminum garnet doped with ytterbium)

Features : High quantum efficiency and excellent thermal conductivity—perfectly suited for laser diode-pumped (LD pumped) , making it the preferred choice for high-power and high-efficiency lasers.

Application : Industrial-grade high-power laser equipment, remote welding and cutting in new-energy vehicle manufacturing.

Ti:Sapphire (Titanium Sapphire)

Features : It features a very wide gain bandwidth but requires another laser (such as a green laser) as the pump source.

Application : Primarily used for manufacturing Ultrafast laser (femtosecond lasers), used in cutting-edge research fields such as ultrafast spectroscopy, micromachining, and attosecond science.

Nd:YVO ₄ (Neodymium-doped Yttrium Vanadate)

Features : It features large absorption and emission cross sections with high efficiency, though its thermal conductivity is slightly lower.

Application : Primarily used in low- to medium-power lasers, especially in laser marking machine and dominate among small DPSS laser pointers.
